The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office announced on July 24 that deputies made several arrests in connection with recent incidents involving property damage, unauthorized use of vehicles, and domestic abuse.
These arrests highlight ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address criminal activity in the community and encourage public cooperation in reporting information related to such cases.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Hunter Graffia, age 17, was arrested at the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office headquarters in Luling on July 23. Graffia faces multiple charges including two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, principal-unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, misdemeanor and felony simple criminal damage to property, as well as six counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. The office reports that Graffia was among several teenagers who took golf carts without authorization from a country club in Luling and drove them on the course, causing damage both to the course itself and other property at the location. He was transported to NCCC for booking.
In another incident reported by deputies on July 23, Patricia Tanchez, age 37, was arrested following a disturbance at a residence on Boutte Estates Drive in Boutte. Deputies said they spoke with a male who reported that he and Tanchez had been arguing when she struck and bit him. Tanchez was taken into custody for domestic abuse battery-minor injury and booked at NCCC.
Additionally, Joel Barrios, age 36, was transferred from Jefferson Parish Correctional Center to NCCC due to an outstanding warrant related to theft-shoplifting stemming from an incident in Des Allemands on May 28.
