Cost of college was unchanged for all students at River Parishes Community College

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at River Parishes Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Louisiana residents paid $4,079 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-residents paid 99.1 percent more than residents this year, or $8,123. Their price tag was unchanged from $8,123 in 2017-18.

About 98 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Louisiana residents. And about 2 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 77 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 241 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.2 million and 135 students took out student loans totaling more than $790,987.

Including all undergraduates (3,470), 1,019 students used grants or scholarships totaling $3.8 million, and 505 students took out $3.2 million in federal student loans.
