Join us to memorialize the 50th anniversary of The Rault Center Fire with a screening of the newest documentary from Royd Anderson, The Rault Center Fire (run time: 45 min.). Anderson will be present for the screening and will be offering a Q & A session after the film.
About the film:
On November 29, 1972, a nation watched in horror as five women fell from a burning building in New Orleans.
This documentary examines the tragedy of the Rault Center Fire. Included are interviews with eyewitnesses, a fire lieutenant called to the scene, relatives of the victims, and a scientist whose entrepreneurial family business impacted fire safety worldwide.
Anderson will be selling copies of the documentary & others he produced on DVD, along with his book, New Orleans Disasters: Firsthand Accounts of Crescent City Tragedy, at the screening. You can contact him at rcand@mygrad.loyno.edu for more information.
