2021-22 School Year Enrollment: 263 9th grade students welcomed in St. James Parish schools

There were 263 ninth grade students enrolled in St. James Parish schools in the 2021-22 school year, 2.6% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Lutcher High School welcomed the most ninth grade students in the parish.

Within St. James Parish schools, the most students were found in seventh grade classes, while 12th grade classes were the smallest.

Statewide, St. James Parish ranked 24th lowest in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 23rd lowest the year before.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
