Enrollment Analysis: Multiracial students comprised 2.5% of St. John the Baptist Parish School District’s student body in 2021-22 school year

There were 123 multiracial students enrolled in St. John the Baptist Parish School District schools in the 2021-22 school year, 8.2% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that St. John the Baptist Parish School District welcomed 4,931 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, multiracial students comprised 2.5% of the student body to be the fourth most represented ethnicity in the district.

St. John the Baptist Parish School District roughly covers schools within St. John the Baptist Parish and has a main office in Reserve.

Among the 12 schools in St. John the Baptist Parish School District, John L. Ory Communications Magnet Elementary School and Emily C. Watkins Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 22 students.

The majority of Louisiana students were identified as white and Black, representing 48% and 37% of the state student body respectively during the 2021–22 academic year. Hispanic students made up 8.6% of the student body, and other ethnic minorities made up 5.6%.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
