There were 2,000 ninth grade students enrolled in Ascension Parish schools in the 2021-22 school year, 13% more than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Dutchtown High School welcomed the most ninth grade students in the parish.

Within Ascension Parish schools, the most students were found in ninth grade classes, while 12th grade classes were the smallest.

Statewide, Ascension Parish ranked 10th highest in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 11th highest the year before.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
