422 students were enrolled for 9th grade in St. John the Baptist Parish schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 422 ninth grade students enrolled in St. John the Baptist Parish schools in the 2021-22 school year, 1.9% more than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

East St. John High School welcomed the most ninth grade students in the parish.

Within St. John the Baptist Parish schools, the most students were found in eighth grade classes, while 12th grade classes were the smallest.

Statewide, St. John the Baptist Parish ranked 31st lowest in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 32nd highest the year before.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
